GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The OB2156 is a BUCK converter with wide input, high efficiency synchronous rectification operation, which can operate in constant voltage or constant current mode. It supports both type C (C port) and USB A (A port) loads. The type-C port supports BC1.2 and PD3.0 protocols. USB-A port supports BC1.2, Apple 2.4A, QC3.0, AFC, FCP protocols. When the power on is at the beginning or there is no load on the A port and the C port, the A port is open and the C port is closed. When only the A port is loaded, the OB2156 is a QC3.0 and AFC protocol charger, and supports BC1.2, Apple 2.4A; When both A and C ports are loaded, OB2156 is an ordinary 5V charger that supports BC1.2 and Apple 2.4A. When only the C-mount is loaded, the OB2156 is a PD3.0 protocol charger.
The OB2156 provides a soft-start to eliminate start-up overcurrent pressure and built-in line compensation to compensate for the voltage drop caused by load line loss. The OB2156 is protected by comprehensive protection functions, including input over-voltage protection, input under-voltage protection, output over-voltage protection, output under-voltage protection, output short-circuit protection, output over-current protection, inductor over-current and over-temperature protection.
The A port of the OB2156 provides high-precision current sensing, and the detection and exit current threshold is 20mA (typical), which can meet the charging needs of Bluetooth devices.
The OB2156 is available in a ETSSOP16 package with a thin periphery.
